The government of Pakistan has imposed lockdown in 30 cities across the country in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. According to information from sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the current COVID-19 status and policies. In the meeting, he told that lockdown is proving very helpful to reduce the number of cases.
He discussed how the strict lockdown was to be removed keeping in view the economic condition of the country and how the government's policy is proving helpful in determining the smart lockdown. Health Ministry officials also pointed out that with the decline in new cases, excessive load on hospitals has been controlled, due to which the healthcare system has seen improvement. This decision has been taken in view of the economic situation.
The statement also said that 1500 beds have been provided in hospitals for serious COVID-19 patients and in the coming time 1,000 more beds will be provided for the protection of infected patients. According to the data released by the ministry, the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased to 237,489 in Pakistan, 4,922 people have died, while 140,965 people have recovered from the disease. There is currently no definitive way to deal with the Corona epidemic.
