Lucknow: The work of the state's revenue department is going on. There are more than 24 service cadres in this department. Many posts are vacant in this department. All the posts of many service groups have become vacant. But the process of filling these vacant posts mired.
According to government figures, 95,621 posts have been created in the revenue department collectively. Of these, there are 1,004 posts of Group 'A', 1,116 of Group 'B', 67,524 of Group 'C' and 25,977 posts of Group 'D'. Out of these, the vacant posts of Group A, B, C and D are mixed, so about 30 thousand posts are vacant. Revenue administration has a large number of vacancies in the cadres like Naib Tehsildar, Revenue Inspector, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Survey Administration Officers, Clerk, Chainman, Consolidator, Zaribman.
If these positions are filled, then unemployed youth can get jobs according to their merit. Stressed field workers will get some relief. But the files ranging from direct recruitment to promotion to fill the vacant posts is stopped. Workers associated with departments say that the functioning of the Revenue Department is continuously increasing.
