Dhaka: The famous economist Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh and Nobel laureate, has said that the Corona epidemic has given us the opportunity to create a new world and an alternative economy. Muhammad Yunus said this in a conversation with former Congress president Rahul Gandhi through video conferencing.
It is noteworthy that amid the crisis of Coronavirus and the problems facing the economy, Congress leader of Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi is in a special conversation with well-known personalities of the world. In the same sequence, he has discussed with Bangladesh Rural Bank founder Muhammad Yunus. He has said that migrant workers, women etc. are not part of the formal sector of the economy. If we help them, we can take the whole economy forward, but we do not do it. If we talk about women, then they have been given lower status in the society, in the field of economy, they do not even ask anyone. But women have got their iron made from time to time. We have made Grameen Bank so successful by understanding their power.
Muhammad Yunus further said that people walk like western countries in financial matters, so they are not being paid attention to. Small workers and businessmen have many talent, but the government does not consider them part of the economy. In the west, people of the village are transported for jobs in the city, the same work is now being done in India. Why don't we create an economy in the village itself. Previously the city had infrastructure, not near the village, but now the village has all the technology, then why are people being sent to the cities? The government should provide work only where there are people.
