Kolkata: Around 300 nurses who worked as nurses in the Astapalas of West Bengal's capital Kolkata resigned after being hurt by the behavior of the people and have left for Manipur. Some more nurses are also scheduled to leave Kolkata. The resignation of nurses in such a large number remains a matter of discussion. JS Joyrita, Deputy Resident Commissioner, Kolkata-based Manipur Bhavan, gave information in this regard on Wednesday.
According to news agency ANI, he said, 'Around 60 more nurses will leave Kolkata tomorrow. People are calling us and they want us to return to Manipur. ' It was earlier told that 185 nurses in Kolkata hospitals have resigned from their jobs and have returned to Imphal. A nurse named Christila has said, 'We are not happy to leave our jobs, but we are discriminated against at work. People on us make racist remarks, even spit on us. There is a shortage of PPE kits in hospitals.
According to the information given on the website of the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry regarding the condition of corona in West Bengal, 2961 cases of infection have been reported in the state. Of these, 1074 people have been cured after treatment while 250 have died. As of Thursday, 112359 cases of Coron have been reported in the country. Of these, 45300 people have recovered after treatment while 3435 people have died due to this epidemic.
