New Delhi: The cyber cell team in Shahdara district has arrested 34 people, including 30 women after a call centre was busted in the name of getting jobs. Eight bank accounts, 48 mobile phones and 85 SIM cards have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused used to register Rs 10 on one of its websites in the name of getting a job at the bank and call centre, then took the information of his bank account and blew two to five thousand rupees.
The accused did not transfer the money of the people to their private bank accounts but bought the coupon of the online shopping company. He used to make a purchase through coupons and supply the goods to someone else so that the police were not easy to reach them. The police is interrogating the accused and investigating the case. Shahdara District additional deputy commissioner of police Sanjay Kumar Sen informed that the cyber cell team of the district was informed about the running of a call centre in a house in GT Road.
Thereafter, inspector of cyber cell Hira Lal, SI Rohtash, Rahul, head Constable, Deepak and Constable Rajveer, Sandeep and Dikshaka were formed as a team. The team approached the fake call centre at GT Road and arrested 34 people. In which three people were present outside.
