Chandigarh: Voting for the Panjab Assembly elections is underway today. Polling has begun at 8 am in 117 assembly constituencies of the state. The state's 2.14 crore voters will seal the fate of a total of 1304 candidates in EVMs. In Punjab, 34.10% of polling has been recorded till 1 pm. 

CM Charanjit Singh Channi said that Arvind Kejriwal is a person who wants to get power at any cost. He said that there should be principles of political persons. While Kejriwal has nothing to do with the theory. AAP's chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann claimed that today the people of Punjab are voting for the truth. We will get a majority in this election.

In Punjab, new voters who are arriving to exercise their franchise for the first time are being welcomed with bouquets at polling booths. The enthusiasm of the differently-abled voters is also being increased by giving them appreciation letters. Selfie points have been set up at super model polling booths. At the pink booth where all the staff has been deployed for women, arrangements have been made to apply mehndi to women voters. The former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh cast his vote at polling booth number 95-98 in Patiala. Punjab Lok Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh said, "I am confident of winning Patiala. I think we'll win the election. Congressmen live in a different world and will be wiped out in Punjab.''
