Police have taken possession of a large consignment of drugs in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. This consignment was being sent from Ranchi to Rajasthan. In this case, the police have detained two poppy smugglers. Police have seized a truck with 17 kg of opium after conducting raids in Ormanjhi areas of Ranchi.

The opium trade is flourishing in Jharkhand in the name of 'Black Diamonds'. But drug dealers do not hesitate to do this business in the process of earn profits. A truck and 17 kg of opium was confiscated in Ormanjhi areas of the capital when Ranchi SSP raided the area. Two smugglers have been detained by the police.

According to the police, narcotics being loaded in trucks in Namkum areas. This truck was being taken to Rajasthan. But the police got information. After which SIT was formed and raided. In the raid, 17 kg of opium loaded in the truck was seized. 30 thousand rupees were also recovered from the arrested smugglers. Rural SP Naushad Alam said that the police is investigating who are involved in this business around Ranchi. According to the police, the price of seized opium in Jharkhand can be Rs 35 lakh. But on reaching Rajasthan, its price would have tripled. According to the information received by the police, the consignment was to be sent to Barmer, Rajasthan.
