Chennai: More than 40,000 Brahmin youth in Tamil Nadu are having trouble finding spouses in the state. The Tamil Nadu Brahmin Sangh has begun a special campaign in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to find suitable partners from the same group. In an open letter issued in the November issue of the Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association (Thambrasmonthly )'s Tamil magazine, N Narayanan, the association's leader, declared, "We have initiated a special movement on behalf of our heritage." "

Narayanan went on to say that around 40,000 Tamil Brahmin males between the ages of 30 and 40 are unable to marry because they cannot find a suitable wife inside Tamil Nadu. "If there are 10 Brahmin guys in the marriageable age bracket, only six girls are available in the marriageable age category in Tamil Nadu," he said.

The Association President stated in his letter that coordinators will be recruited in Delhi, Lucknow, and Patna to carry out this initiative. When asked about this, Narayanan responded that a person who can read, write, and speak Hindi will be assigned to the Sangh's offices here to serve as a director.
