United States: On Friday, the US government announced a reward of US$40,000 for information leading to the arrest of Malaysian defense contractor "Fat Leonard" sentenced for one of the country's biggest bribery scandals in military history He had disappeared weeks before leaving.

According to the US Marshals Service, Leonard Glenn Francis broke his ankle monitor bracelet on September 4 at 7.35 a.m. (local time) at a home in San Diego where he was being kept.

Prosecutors claimed that the company charged more than US$35 million for servicing the ships, many of which were deported to ports in the Pacific they controlled.

Francis is being sought by ten different agencies in the United States. US officials also issued a red notice, requesting that law enforcement around the world arrest anyone suspected of extradition. Malaysia and Singapore both have extradition treaties with the United States.
