Amitabh Bachchan, the great artist of the century, and legendary actor Dharmendra Starrer Sholay have completed 44 years yesterday (August 15). The film was released on the day of August 15, 1975. The Bollywood film was popular and was well-loved for its story and star acting. It was directed by Ramesh Sippy. On the completion of 44 years of the film, the director expressed his happiness on social media.

Director Ramesh Sippy has said that "Sholay is a film liked by people of every generation and gave it its love." The director wrote on his Twitter account, "It's nice to know that even after 44 years, Sholay is loved and seen by every generation. I'm blessed.'"

You may recall that Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Veeru in the film by Jai and Dharmendra. While the story was based on two miscreants named Jai and Veeru, used by a retired police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) to nab the robber Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). The main character was done by Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan in Sholay. The music in the film belonged to RD Berman.
