Delhi Daredevils fast-bowler Mohammed Shami’s cricket career is at crossroads after the BCCI withheld his name from the list of central contracts due to some serious personal allegations made by his wife, Hasin Jahan.

Although the charges against Shami have not been proved as yet, it is safe to assume that he, in all likeliness, may not play the IPL this year because of the long process the police will undergo. In his absence, here are 5 other Indian bowlers who can take up the pace responsibility in the Gautam Gambhir led side.

1. Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma found no takers in the January auctions after being listed for a base price of Rs. 75 lakh. The veteran pacer has plenty of IPL experience under his belt, which can come handy to any team. Despite being known as a decent T20 bowler, as is evident from his stats, Ishant fails to get takers in the auctions.

2. Rajneesh Gurbani

The primary influence behind Vidarbha's success in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy was fast bowler Rajneesh Gurbani who finished the season as the second-highest wicket-taker with 39 wickets. The 24-year-old claimed a hat-trick in the first innings of the final against Delhi and his eventual figures of 6 wickets for 59 runs restricted Delhi to 295.

3. Sreenath Aravind

Speedster was auctioned at Rs. 50 lakh in the two-day Bengaluru event, back in late January. His good bowling in the power plays can make him an asset for the Daredevils.

4. Ashok Dinda

Indian speedster Ashok Dinda ended the 2016 season with 11 wickets from nine games, and in the 2017 edition, he picked up a solitary wicket from three games because he was benched for most of the season. His experience of playing IPL for the past ten years can come crucial to any franchise. He remained unsold in the 2018 auctions, with a base price of Rs. 50 lakhs.

5. Varun Aaron

In 2017, Aaron was picked by the RCB for Rs. 2.8 crores but he failed to repay the trust kept in him, with a high economy rate and very few wickets.
