Hyderabad: The State Cabinet on Tuesday took a slew of decisions including release of an ‘Annual Recruitment Calendar’ for filling vacant posts, release of Rs 1,200 crore to ensure adequate drinking water supply in the peripheral areas of Hyderabad city, and 50 per cent reservation for local students in residential welfare schools, among others. The Cabinet also discussed revision of land registration values and fee as well as development of layouts through land pooling in urban areas.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here directed the officials to identify all the vacancies in all government departments as per the new zonal system and prepare an ‘Annual Recruitment Calendar’ every year in order to fill vacant posts every year.

The State Cabinet also decided to continue with the meeting on Wednesday to discuss and initiate steps to identify the vacant posts in the government departments and fill them. The officials have been directed to attend the Cabinet meeting with details pertaining to all vacancies in all the departments at 2 pm on Wednesday. The Cabinet will also discuss other pending issues at the meeting.

The State Cabinet decided to allocate 50 per cent of the seats in residential schools to local students of respective Assembly constituencies. The government’s move would benefit local students ensuring that they continue with their education closer home.

During a discussion on the pandemic in the State, Health Secretary SAM Rizvi briefed the Cabinet about the prevailing situation in different districts, steps taken to check the spread of the virus and providing treatment as well as other field level observations.
