Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the most awaited movies of the year.  It features Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in Lead roles. A trend is going on different social media platforms to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha due to earlier controversial statements of Aamir Khan and his family member. As people things, his comment are against India. Meanwhile, Aamir also reacted to it and said, “That Boycott Bollywood... Boycott Aamir Khan... Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha... I feel sad also because a lot of people who are saying this in their hearts believe I am someone who doesn't like India... In their hearts, they believe that... And that's quite untrue. I really love the country... That's how I am. It is rather unfortunate if some people feel that way. I want to assure everyone that it's not the case so please don't boycott my films, please watch my films.”

But after all these efforts, Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha is trending. This is not the first time when a Bollywood movie is boycotted. Here is a list of all the Bollywood movies which are boycotted for different reasons.

Chhapak : The lead actor of the movie Deepika Padukone took the nation by storm by visiting Jawaharlal Nehru University, where she stood with student protestors against the CAA. After which several called it a publicity stunt and argued to Boycott Chhapaak. Meanwhile Many claimed that she was being paid by the opposition party. BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga took to Twitter to call for a mass boycott of all films starring Padukone.

Lipstick under my Burkah: Muslim leaders from Bhopal called for the movie's boycott because it hurt the religious sentiments of the community. Yet, upon finally receiving the certification, Lipstick Under My Burkha was well received and won numerous national and international awards. Meanwhile, at the beginning with the CBFC's refusal to certify the film owing to its sexual content and use of strong language, the Board also claimed that the film was “too lady-oriented”. But the movie gets audience support and is one of the critically acclaimed movies.

Padmaavat: Although Padmaavaat has managed to do well in the Box office there is various protests held against it in the country by Karni Sena and political parties claiming that Sanjay Bhansali has played with the sentiments of people. Bhansali was assaulted on the set, death threats were given out and what's more, a bounty was even announced on Deepika Padukone's head. The Rajputs called for a boycott.

Dangal: Another movie by Aamir Khan Dangal, the film was based on India's wrestling stars, the Phogat sisters and came with much sporting fanfare and national pride. However, a section of the society called for the movie's ban owing to Aamir's comment on “rising intolerance” in the country. People called him anti-national and #LetsBoycottDangal became a Twitter trend but the movie became a blockbuster.

PK: Yet another movie of Aamir, As the movie hit the theatre there were full-blown calls for boycotting the film by several Hindu leaders urged for a social boycott of the film and criticized the makers for denigrating Hindu culture and only focusing on Hindi culture. The first poster of the movie features Aamir khan naked Aamir Khan holding a strategically placed radio set.

Goliyon ki Rasleela, Ram- Leela: A petition was also filed against the film in the Delhi HC because the film's content involving sex, violence, and vulgarity 'deeply hurt Hindu religious sentiments. The movie faced multiple protests across the country ahead of its release. Cities like Indore, Rajkot, and Jalandhar protested against the film's title and content.
