In Andhra Pradesh, the death toll has risen to 13,970 with two deaths each in Nellore and Prakasam and one each in Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts in the last 24 hours. As of Friday, the total number of 1439 new coronavirus cases has been reported across the state reaching 20,27,650. On the other hand, 1107 new patients were cured on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,98,561 and there are currently 15,119 active cases. As per district-wise data, Chittoor recorded 281 new infections, followed by Nellore with 261, East Godavari 213 and Vizianagaram district with 14 no cases. Andhra Pradesh conducted 67,911 Covid-19 tests in the last twenty four hours, taking the total to around 2.72 crore tests across the state.

Weather over Andhra Pradesh, the storm over East-central Bay of Bengal and its atmosphere is spread at an average height of 7.6 km above sea level, due to which low pressure is very likely in the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. With a severe storm likely to hit West-North Andhra Pradesh in the next 48 hours, officials predicted weather conditions for three days in different parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected over most parts of North Coastal Andhra today and at one or two places in many districts. It has been reported that the Palakonda Palasa section is receiving thunderstorms due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain in Srikakulam district. On the other hand, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over parts of South Coastal Andhra today and tomorrow. While approaching Rayalaseema, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Rayalaseema today and tomorrow.
