Six players of the Indian men's hockey team, including captain Manpreet Singh, have recovered from Corona and have been discharged from the hospital in Bengaluru on Monday evening. Sources close to the team have told that Manpreet, defender Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Varun Kumar, goalkeeper Krishna Bahadur Pathak and striker Mandeep Singh have turned tested negative for corona 2 times. Also, their vital organs are functioning normally. These people were corona tested positive on August 10 and 12. The source told the media "All the hockey players have recovered completely from Corona and they will be discharged this evening."
The symptoms of this disease were not visible in Captain Mandeep, but the Sports Authority of India (SAI) admitted him to SS Sparsh multi-speciality Hospital in Bengaluru when the level of oxygen in the blood decreased. Later, Manpreet and 4 other players have also been admitted to this hospital as a precautionary step. The training camp for both men and women teams is going to start in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Players recovering from Coronavirus, however, will have to spend some more time in isolation after which they will be able to join the team.
There are 33 male and 24 female players in Bengaluru for the camp. The national camp is expected to continue on September 3. The source said, "According to the guidelines of the state government, the players who have recovered will have to stay for 1 week to ten days in isolation, after which they can start the practice.
