Indian-American golfer Aman Gupta has won the final 32 and pre-quarter finals of the 120th US Amateur Championship and has entered the quarterfinals. He has secured Jonathan Yaughan in the final 32 while Sam Bennett in the final sixteen and secured the quarter-finals of one of the world's most prestigious amateur tournaments.

The departure of world number two Ricky Castillo at the last minute has given opportunity to 21-year-old Aman Gupta to play. Gupta, ranked 5 hundredth in the world rankings, will face 43rd ranked player Michael Thorbjonsen in the quarter-finals.

Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri, returning after five months, played an under-69 card in the first round of the Vindham Championship on Thursday, while Arjun Atwal's match could not be completed due to bad weather.
