The epicentre of the earthquake was Valenar in Chile and it has been reported that till now there is no information about any damage of any kind. In May 2020, in the northwest of Chile, 38 kilometres northwest of La Serena, a moderate earthquake tremor was felt.

It has also been told that its intensity was not as high as the tremors felt this time. At that time the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale was measured at 5.2. The epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 61.89 km from the ground surface at 29.6191 degrees south latitude and 71.4779 degrees longitude.
