On Thursday, the Mahabubabad rural police had another illegal activity. The police arrested three people and recovered 60 kg ganja worth Rs 6 lakh from them. They also seized two cars used in ganja transport.

Police, who were conducting vehicle checks near the Akeru Bridge, followed two cars and intercepted a check post at Jamandlapalli and found ganja in both cars. S. Sarath of Jamandlapalli, B Ashwin of Thorur and M Ramesh of Mylaram village of Rayaparti mandal were arrested in connection with Ganja Peddling.

Peddlers have reportedly bought dry ganja from Odisha for Rs 1,500 per kilo a week ago. They are going to Hyderabad and then Mumbai to sell the banned material to easily make money. Another accused, SP Koti Reddy told the media that P Ashok of Jamandlapalli was in The Nipper.
