New Delhi: Press talks have been held on behalf of the Union Health Ministry and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) over the corona epidemic situation in the country. Health Ministry Secretary Rajesh Bhushan and Director General, ICMR Dr. Balram Bhargava have shared information on the condition of corona in the country.
Briefing the press, Health Ministry secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the number of people who are healthy with coronavirus infection in India has crossed 62 lakh. He said that it is the highest in the world. The health ministry said that the number of active cases of corona has been less than 9 lakh for the fifth consecutive day in the country. Rajesh Bhushan said that the positive rate of corona in India is going down sharply.
Cumulative Positivity Rate in India is 8.07%, he explained. Weekly, the rate is 6.24% and daily it is 5.16%. The Secretary, Ministry of Health has said that about 87% of the total corona cases in the country have been healthy or discharged from the hospital. He said that 11.69% of corona infections are active cases that are either in hospitals or quarantined at home. In addition, 1.53% of the cases are fatal.
