Jerusalem: Reports are rife about clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinians on the occasion of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Islam's third-holiest site. It is being reported that 67 Palestinians were injured in Friday morning's violence. In fact, Israel claims its occupation of the Al Aqsa mosque and has banned the entry of Palestinians into the mosque. However, in view of Ramadan, these restrictions were lifted. Thousands of Muslims had gathered at the mosque for the morning prayers and during this time violence broke out.

According to media reports, the committee overseeing the Al-Aqsa mosque said Israeli police entered the mosque before dawn. At the same time, Israel said that thousands of people had gathered at the mosque for morning prayers in view of Ramadan. His army had entered the mosque to remove rocks and stones gathered to commit the violence. Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered a holy place for Muslims as well as Jews and Christians. 

Jews consider it their greatest holy site. There has been a conflict between Israel and Palestine over this mosque for decades. In the video that is going viral on social media, Palestinians can be seen throwing stones and Israeli police throwing tear gas shells and grenades. In some of the videos, people are also seen hiding in the mosque to avoid the impact of tear gas.
