Akola: The whole world is battling the Coronavirus, India is not untouched by this. The most corona patient in the country is in Maharashtra. 68 prisoners have been found corona positive in Akola District Jail of Maharashtra. Many of these are asymptomatic. An isolation ward has been made for prisoners in the prison itself. In this regard, Deputy Collector Sanjay Khadse told that all arrangements were made for the care of the prisoners.

The jail officer has said that there are 300 prisoners in the district jail and no new prisoners have been brought recently. Earlier on June 24, 18 prisoners were found infected in the district jail. So far, 1498 cases of corona infection have been reported in Akola district and 76 people have lost their lives. There are 378 active cases left here, while more than 1000 have been cured.

Apart from this, corona patients have also been found in Delhi jail. 62-year-old prisoner Kunwar Singh died in Delhi's Mandoli jail on June 15. The life of the prisoner had gone to sleep and then there was no reason for it. However, later the sample of the prisoner was sent for the corona test, the report of which turned out to be positive. Kunwar Singh was convicted in a murder case in 2016. He was sent to Mandoli jail on 6 July 2018. DG Jail Sandeep Goyal had told that so far 23 prisoners have been found infected with Corona in Delhi jails.
