Indore: Sanjay alias Shubham Dixit, the main culprit in the multi-fire at Swarna Bagh colony in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by the police from the Loha Mandi area on Saturday night. His hands and legs were also broken in order to escape from the police. Subsequently, the police brought him to my hospital late at night in an injured condition. A reward of 30 thousand rupees was announced for the offender. The man had set fire to the scooty of the girl living in multi due to one-sided love late on Friday night, which spread to the entire building. This was revealed by the CCTV footage near the house. In the footage, the culprit was seen setting fire to the vehicle. He was heard from the girl. Thereafter, the criminal hatched a conspiracy to set the two-wheeler of the same girl on fire. The fire spread throughout the building.
Indore Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said that the name of the culprit who set the fire is Sanjay alias Shubham Dixit, a resident of Jhansi. The criminal had come to Indore a year ago and stayed in the same building as a tenant till six months ago. According to the police, the case is a one-sided love affair. The criminal loves a girl living in this building. The girl's marriage was fixed elsewhere. But he wanted to marry her. That's what the two had a fight about. The girl has also been questioned. She's out of danger right now.
According to the police, there was also a dispute between the accused and the girl in other cases, including Rs 10,000. Thereafter, Sanjay left home 6 months ago. He has worked at several places in Indore. According to the police, a case of murder will be registered against Sanjay. There will be more revelations in his interrogation. CCTV footage showed a man in a white shirt coming at 2.54 pm on Friday, who pulled out petrol from a vehicle parked in the parking lot and set it on fire. While this is not being officially confirmed, the Crime Branch and other teams have been deployed to nab the culprit. After setting the fire, the boy was also seen going into the footage. After a while, the boy comes back to this building. He is seen tampering with CCTV cameras and electric meters installed in the building. Then he leaves again from here. However, the CCTVs of the Swarna Bagh building where the fire broke out have been completely burnt. Police have seized CCTV footage and DVR of three houses in the area.
