Lucknow: The Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh has once again witnessed the havoc of spurious liquor. Seven people have lost their lives due to the consumption of poisonous liquor, while more than 12 people are sick. The incident has created a hue and cry in several villages under the Ahraula police station area. Alam is that the mourning of death is being celebrated from more than half a dozen villages. Angry villagers have staged a halt to the road in Mahul town. There has been an uproar in the district administration. In the atmosphere of assembly elections, the illegal liquor business has started increasing once again.

Liquor sold from a country liquor shop at Nagar Panchayat Mahul under the Ahraula police station area has been found to be poisonous on Sunday evening. So far, seven people have died after drinking it. More than 12 people are struggling with life and death in different hospitals. After the death of seven people, the entire area is in mourning. The condition of women in villages and people from hospitals to postmortem houses at district headquarters is miserable. 

Everyone was raising the same voice that those who sell liquor in the form of death should be taught such a lesson that people would remember. In the month of May, more than 30 people died in Mittupur village due to poisonous liquor. After the incident, the district administration had launched a sit-in against the illegal liquor business.
