Amravati: TheNational Highways Authority of India has achieved great success in road construction. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the National Highways Authority of India has set a Guinness World Record by constructing a single-lane road in 105 hours and 33 minutes. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set a Guinness World Record by constructing a 75-km bituminous concrete road in a single lane on the Amravati-Akola section of NH-53 in 105 hours and 33 minutes.  

Along with this, Nitin Gadkari has shared the photo of the certificate of Road and Guinness World Records. Nitin Gadkari said that this 75 km single lane is equivalent to 37.5 km of continuous bituminous concrete road 2-lane pucca shoulder road. Nitin Gadkari in a tweet reported that 720 workers, including 800 employees of NHAI and a team of independent consultants, were involved in the work. The road construction work  started at 7:27 am on June 3, 2022 and was completed at 5:00 pm on June 7, 2022.

The work was completed in a record time of 105 hours and 33 minutes. The Amravati to Akola section is part of National Highway-53 and is an important east-west corridor. "Originating from the mineral rich area of our country, this section connects major districts like Kolkata- Raipur- Nagpur-Akola-Dhule-Surat. This record was first acquired by the Public Works Authority - ASHGHAL (Qatar) on February 27, 2019. The road was part of the Al-Khor Expressway and took 10 days to complete the work.
