85% of people died of Covid-19 in India were above 40 years old

In its statement yesterday, the Health Ministry said that the age group who are deceased more due to Coronavius in India are of 45+ years. The percentage of this age group is 85 percent in India. Apart from this, 53 percent of the deaths due to Coronavirus in India are people above the age of 60 years. In the total population of India, people above 60 years of age substitutes only 10 percent.

During the Corona period, a big statement of Rajesh Bhushan, OSD of the Union Health Ministry has reported. During a  media briefing, he told "What is important to notice is that 25 percent of India's population is of 45 years of age and above and nearly 85 percent of deaths caused due to Corona is seen in people of this age. He requested Central and state governments to pay special attention to this age group more.

The population falling in the age group of 60 to 74 years is approximate 8 percent of India's population and has a 39 percent share of deaths due to Corona. The death toll of people over 75 years of age is 14 percent of the population accounting for only 2 percent of the total population of India. According to Bhushan, "The age group under 14 is about 35 percent of the population. In Corona, 1 percent of the deaths have occurred in people of this age." Also, 3 percent of corona-related deaths have been reported in the age group of 18–29 which constitute 18 percent of total India's population. In the age group of 30-44 with 22 percent of the population, Corona's death figure is 11 percent.
