8-year-old Missing girl found murdered in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Police announced on Saturday that an eight-year-old child who had gone missing was found dead in the national capital's Narela area.

A senior police official said that at around 10 pm. on Friday, they received a Police control room call in this regard from outer North Delhi. According to the official, a police squad was deployed right away to the scene and neighboring CCTV footage was examined.

"The victim was seen moving with one person. The person who appeared in the video was located and recognised. The man was arrested. The accused attempted to lie throughout questioning, but eventually, he broke down "police said.

Police also said, the accused and the deceased's brother had a tense relationship.

The accused claimed to have killed the girl and dumped her body in order to teach her brother a lesson, according to the police.

An FIR under Section 363 of the Indian Penal code was initially filed, and Section 302 has since been added.
"Crime branch team and forensic team visited and inspected the spot. Legal professionals have also been employed. Sexual assault is ruled out by them.  We are moving forward with the post-mortem "police reported.

The Delhi Police have been given the notice to provide a report on the occurrence by Delhi Commission for Women Chief Swati Maliwal.
