KOLKATA:  A parallel affair with a girl and also with her mother resulted in brutal murder of a 21-year-old man, whose body was found from Magrahat in South 24 Parganas district, police said on Saturday.

Six  persons including the girlfriend of the now-deceased Ayan Mondal, her parents, brother, and two of their associates, have been arrested by the police of the Haridevpur Police station, whose jurisdiction the victim resided.
The deceased was having a parallel relationship with the girl and her mother, which caused a feud. following which he was brutally murdered and his body dumped at a secluded place at Magrahat.  This information came to light during the police investigation.

According to city police sources, Mondal, an app cab driver by trade, attempted to contact his lover on Wednesday night in honour of Vijaya Dashami. Mondal arrived at her house intoxicated, though, because she kept cutting off his calls.

"He argued with her mother there and even assaulted her. The argument became more heated as soon as his fiancée, her brother, and father arrived. Her brother struck Mondal in the head with a hefty, blunt weapon in the heat of the moment, instantly killing him "a member of the municipal police claimed.

The four then made the decision to hide the body in a remote location. The brother got in touch with two of his close friends, leased a pick-up van, wrapped the body, drove to a remote area in Magrahat, and dropped it there. By late Wednesday night, the entire procedure was finished.

At the Haridevpur Police Station, Mondal's family reported him missing on Thursday morning. The body was eventually found on Friday night.
