Chandigarh: In a shocking incident in Buled Nangal village, Rayya area of Punjab's Amritsar, a man allegedly killed his six-month pregnant wife by setting her on fire after tying her to a bed. The tragic incident occurred on Friday, shaking the local community to its core.

According to the police, the couple, identified as Sukhdev and Pinky, had a history of frequent quarrels. On the day of the incident, their argument escalated, leading to a heated altercation. In a fit of rage, Sukhdev tied Pinky to a bed and set her ablaze.

Tragically, Pinky, who was carrying twins, succumbed to her injuries on the spot. The accused, Sukhdev, fled the scene after committing the heinous crime.

Inspector Gurvinder Singh confirmed the devastating news, stating that a case has been registered against Sukhdev, and a search operation is underway to apprehend him.
