One of the hottest topics of discussion is the 96 remake in Telugu. Noted producer Dil Raju has the remake rights of this flick while Sharwanand and Samantha would be essaying Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's roles respectively and director C Prem Kumar would helm the Telugu version as well.

According to the latest update the makers are planning to shoot the major part of the film in Vizag and Hyderabad. The sources close to the film unit reveal that the movie will first be shot in the African country of Kenya. The Kenya schedule will last for 15 days after which the schedule will be shifted to Vizag and then to Hyderabad where it will be wrapped. If sources are anything to go by, the makers have planned to shoot Sharwa's portions, who will be seen as a photographer, in the African country of Kenya. 

Sharwanand will be sporting a younger look, with a trimmed beard and the film might not focus on the lead pair's school days and will instead focus on their love during their college. The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shoot by the end of July. Samantha and Sharwanand starrer Jaanu is directed by Prem Kumar and is bankrolled by Dil Raju.
