Deepika Padukone gave a powerful performance in Shoojit Sircar's movie Piku. In the film, she was seen with Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.
Recently Shoojit Sircar was asked if he plans on working with the actress again, he was quoted saying, "Deepika is one of my favourites. Whenever my writers and I talk, we always think, ‘what can we do with Deepika’ because I’m so fond of her. It was a brilliant experience working with her. Frankly, while working on Piku, I saw the real actress and real creativity in her; and what she is as a soul. My revelation was that she is a simple, girl-next-door soul, despite having done many other films and potboilers. Now, I am working on and thinking about something wherein Deepika and I can work together. So, we’ll soon chat about it."
Shoojit's film Pink was honoured with National Award, to this he said, "I would like to humbly thank my entire team for this huge honour. Pink would not have been possible without Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and his support and I would like to also thank my friend and Producer Ronnie Lahiri, Director Aniruddha, my writer Ritesh Shah, my lovely cast and crew for coming together with me."
He further said, "I would also like to thank the National Award jury for bestowing one of the most respectable laurels on us and I feel more responsible now to persevere ahead with the film and its cause. I will not celebrate this Award in the usual manner but will dedicate to taking Pink to larger audiences."
