Deoria Shelter Home witnesses Allege Sexual Abuse, 24 girls rescued, owners arrested

Deoria, Aug 6: A Couple has arrested for running shelter home in UP without a license by CBI where 24 girls were rescued from a shelter home in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria city yesterday. The girls alleged that the owners of the shelter home forced them to involve in gray business. The incident exposed when a 10-year-old inmate ran away and approached a police station.

Unearthing the dreadfulness going on at the shelter home, the Deoria police and CBI held a raid at the shelter home and rescued the girls. Following the girl’s allegations, The shelter home’s license was also cancelled. According to the reports, the girl, who ran away told the police that all inmates received servant-like treatment at the shelter home.

She also told the cops that a number of cars came to pick girls who were above 15 years old and the girls came crying the next day.

Worth mention here the shelter home had a total of 42 girls out of which, 18 are said to be missing.

The city police have arrested the shelter home’s proprietor- Girija Tripathi and her husband in alleged links with the case. Both the man and his wife were managers at the shelter home.

The shelter home case in UP is just similar incident which unearthed in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, where the owner of Brajesh Thakur  was arrested last month for allegedly raping as many as 34 young girls .
