Malayalam magazine 'Grihalaxmi', came in controversies when its cover page showed a woman breastfeeding a child. At one side the cover has fetched many praises from critics but on the other hand, many have claimed the incident as ‘indecent’ for which advocate Vinod Matthew have also filed a case in CJM court of Kollam in Kerala against magazine’s publisher and the model.

High court favoured the move and termed the case as baseless while saying that obscenity lies in beholder’s eye and. Now, Divyanka Tripathi also speaks up on the row and said that “Women’s breast is meant to feed a child.” Further, she added: “A mother is a mother. Nothing can be obscene about feeding her child.” “Let women be a woman, stop judging.”

Gilu Joseph, the 27-year model featured on the magazine was highly criticized for the move and on this once she reviewed that “It is a problem to interpret this sexually. Isn’t it a beautiful thing, friends? Why do you think it is wrong? Which god will be angry if you feed your child?"

Breastfeeding is not in controversy for the first time. The topic was discussed at world level when Australian MP Larissa Waters addressed the parliament while breastfeeding her 14-week-old baby girl. The move was then also gathered appraises and criticism as well. Time and Babytalk magazine have featured the incident on the cover page for appraising the move.
