Future in danger: Students dangerously crossing the river in four different states

On one hand, India is going to celebrate the 72nd Independence next month and on other, we are still facing problems to meet our basic needs like education. The news is coming from different Indian states where students dangerously crossing the rivers to reach to their school.

In Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, students are crossing the river by using the rope ladder to climb a hillock. This problem occurred when the bridge over Chuflgad river swept away in heavy rainfall in Ghat area.

In J&K also students are crossing River Tawi to reach their school. In this case, the footbridge swept away in flood and now local people are using ropes to cross the river and that bridge was too built by the contribution of villagers. The government has deployed police to help students in crossing the river through ropes.

Another news is from Chikmagalur town of Karnataka, where school students are children are using a log bridge to reach their school in Kammaradi. Crossing river is risky as the log bridge is not strong enough and they can slip.

The other story is of Kamrup and Barpeta districts of Assam, where students are using a weak bamboo bridge to cross the river Kalahi. According to villagers Government has promised to construct a good bridge but fails to meet its promise.
