Indian Airports across the country have been put on alert, terror attack

Airports across the country have been put on vigilant in the wake of an intelligence input warning of a possible terror attack.Shake war on Indian cities key to victory in Kashmir: Al Qaeda says in new videos per details are out of the terrorists may target the holiday rush ahead of New Year.The alert says extra security measures should be employed for New Year's Eve.

Earlier, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) had also alerted all airport operators and airlines to maintain the highest level of vigil in wake of feared terror attacks, The Times of India reported.

Following the alerts, passenger frisking and baggage security checks are expected to be intensified at airports.

"New Year celebration functions are being held throughout the country. This is a compromising period.The number of position has occurred in the past also when this period has been chosen by terrorists/antinational elements to perpetrate an act of terrorism," the BCAS alert stated.

 

"During the year, Pak-based terrorist outfits have already shown their intentions to carry out attacks in the country. During 2017, IS inspired individuals have carried out gruesome attacks in other countries, targeting innocent civilians as well as police personnel. Offender have initiated attacks by suicide bombing, using improvised explosive device-laden vehicle, stabbing, ramming vehicle into crowd and indiscriminate firing in crowded areas,"
