Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed strong criticism of the Congress on Sunday, stating that not only the country but also the party members have lost faith in them. Asserting the BJP's victory in all 11 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, CM Sai declared, "The Congress has lost the trust of the nation, its people, and its own members. There is a continuous exodus from the Congress. In Chhattisgarh, thousands of Congress workers have joined the BJP. No matter what they promise, people are not going to trust them anymore, not even their 'Nari Nyay Yojana', which promises to provide Rs 1 lakh annually to women."
Confident about the BJP's victory, Sai stated, "Sensing the public sentiment during the campaign, I can say with absolute certainty that the BJP will win all 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh. Recently, delegates from four countries visited the state and witnessed the election process."
As the first phase of polling in the state approaches on May 7, the CM emphasized, "From March 20 to May 4, we have conducted 64 major campaigns, with two more scheduled for today. In the last 45 days, I have interacted with people more than 106 times. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior leaders have campaigned in the state, highlighting the achievements of the central government over the last decade and the three months of our government."
Accusing INDIA bloc leaders of resorting to foul language during the campaign, Sai criticized the Congress for its failure to implement housing schemes and pay bonuses to farmers when in power. Highlighting recent paddy procurement and the success of state government schemes like 'Mahtari Vandana Yojana' and 'Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana', he also mentioned the government's initiative to procure standard tendu leaves in tribal-dominated regions.
Reaffirming the state government's commitment to making India a developed nation by 2047, Sai listed the benefits of the Centre's 'Ayushman Bharat' healthcare scheme. Encouraging people to actively participate in the elections, he emphasized the importance of empowering the country and bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi back for a third consecutive term.
The ongoing general elections in Chhattisgarh have seen polling for two out of the 11 Lok Sabha seats. While Bastar went to polls on April 19, polling for Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker was held on April 26 in the second phase. The upcoming third phase will cover Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Surguja, Raigarh, Jangir-Champa, and Korba. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 9 out of 11 seats in Chhattisgarh, with the Congress securing only 2 seats.
