Pulwama: In yet another winning counter-insurgency operation, two terrorists were gunned down after a ferocious encounter broke out between India's security forces and them on Thursday morning in Khrew area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, as Times now reported .

"Two terrorists have been neutralised and we have recovered arms and ammunition on them," the Jammu and Kashmir Police statement was quoted by Times now.

The police also stated the slain terrorists have not been recognized yet.

Worth mention here earlier this week, one soldier attained martyrdom while two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Kulgam on Tuesday. The encounter started after the terrorists fired at a team of Army workforce, state police and the Central Reserve Police Force during a blow-dry operation.

It is noted that on Sunday, security forces killed six terrorists in the Kapran Batagund area of Shopian district in which four out of the six belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen and two belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Both the district commanders of Hizbul and Lashkar were gunned down in the encounter.

In one more noteworthy operation last week, six terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sekipora area of Bijbehara in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. A heavy hoard of arms and ammunition were also found from them.
