Justin Trudeau arrives in India with wife and kids on 7-day tour

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau landed in Delhi on Saturday evening along with kids and wife. He is on a seven-day tour to India whose aim, according to him, is to boost job opportunities and strengthen the "deep connection between the people of our two countries".

Justin Trudeau tweeted a picture featuring him along with wife and kids while embarking on his journey to India. They were received by officials waiting for them since early in the evening. Trudeau and family greeted them with the Indian salutation ‘Namaskar’. His youngest kid received a bouquet.

The Canadian Prime Minister will visit Agra, Mumbai, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, and New Delhi. He will meet PM Modi on February 23. He will visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Jama Masjid and Cricket stadium in New Delhi. In Ahmedabad, he will participate in a discussion at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and also visit Sabarmati Ashram. On his visit to Mumbai, he will interact with business leaders and people from the film industry.

Indian officials and leaders were found posting updates on twitter constantly on Justin Trudeau’s arrival. Vikas Swarup, Indian High Commissioner to Canada posted several updates on the microblogging site. On their arrival, he tweeted, “A long wait is finally over as Prime Minister of Canada @JustinTrudeau accompanied by Madame Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and their three children arrive in India on a State Visit”.
