You may find this news shocking, but it is true that only about 60 lakh rupees was spent in coffee, tea, biscuits and drinking water in 'Kaveri' and home office 'Krishna' in Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's house.

Another major thing is that the expenditure of tea-biscuit which is given to the people coming to meet in CM house and in this expenditure has not been included. Referrals are given to other people on the bill and the expenditure on food provided to guests was also not included. 

According to the report revealed through RTI, Rs 60 lakhs were spent on referrals to CMs and their family members. These expenses have been for the last four years. Information was sought through an RTI. 

In reply, it was told that in the year 2013-14, about Rs. 10 lakhs were spent on coffee, tea, and packaged water. Whereas, these expenses, including snacks, are up to Rs 13.65 lakhs. 

In 2015-16, the amount has increased to 11 lakh. In this, Rs. 4.56 lakhs was spent on Biscuits and beverages worth Rs. 6.7 lakhs. In the year 2016-17, Rs 4.6 lakh was spent on the biscuit, while seven lakh rupees were spent on beverages. 

At the same time, in the year 2017-18, so far 4.6 lakh biscuits and 7.2 lakhs have been spent on beverages. 

According to the report, during the last four years, during this time, 22 lakhs were spent in the purchase of biscuit, while 38 lakhs were spent in the purchase of beverages. 

If you talk about water and biscuits, then Rs. 1.75 has been spent in the purchase of 4.5 lakh water in the biscuits every year.
