Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 30 (NT): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M. Karunanidhi's supporters still stayed outside the Kauvery Hospital here and appealed to the hospital staff to update them about their favorite leader's health condition despite being lathi-charged by the police earlier a day.

"For the past three days, we have been waiting here without food and water. We don't want anything, give us our thalaiva back. Why has nothing been said on him yet? We want him back," a supporter of Karunanidhi was quoted by ANI as saying.

Meanwhile, Manikandan, who is personal secretary of A. Raja, has appealed the cadres to cooperate with security personnel and not get aggravated by any rumors.

"We appeal to the cadre, who have gathered in large numbers, to not believe in rumours," Manikandan said in a statement.

The throng, who was trying moved forcefully inside the hospital was lathi-charged by the police deployed to keep away from any unwelcome situation.

 According to the reports, throng has also gathered outside DMK chief’s Gopalapuram resident.

Reports also tell that heavy security has been beefed up both at hospital and Karunanidhi's home.

 Worth mention here the 95 year old Karunanidhi was admitted to hospital on Saturday following a fall in his blood pressure.

The DMK robust, who is suffering from fever because of urinary tract infection, was earlier undergoing treatment at his Gopalapuram home in Chennai. At present He is on intravenous antibiotics. (NT)
