Kerala: The soil of Kerala lashing with heavy rains ever now and then here are live updates so far.

All passenger carrying trains on Kanjikode-Walayar stretched in the Palakkad-Podanur section are expected to be regulated by 30 minutes to 60 minutes. Freight trains to be delayed. Repair work of the damaged track expected to be completed today.

Rain water entered low-lying residential areas in Pathalam, Ernakulam. Fire and Rescue Department rescue people using boats. 20 people have died in Kerala so far in flooding and landslides following heavy and incessant rains.

 Over 100 houses vacated and 12 camps have been urgently opened at Paravur Taluk. Around 951 people rehabilitated in the district as the low-lying residential areas like Pathalam & Eloor have been submerged in water.

Water is flowing into the operational area of Cochin International Airport (CIAL). Airport may close with short notice, no long term parking in CIAL and no diversion from other airport will be permitted till further notification, said Airport Director, CIAL.

“We have sought help from the Army, Navy, Coast Guard & NDRF. 3 NDRF teams have arrived, 2 teams to arrive soon and 6 additional NDRF teams have been called in. Nehru Trophy Boat Race has been cancelled”, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan was quoted as saying by leading news agency ANI.

Idukki dam opened after 26 years, following rising water levels due to heavy rains in the district. Worth mention here 20 people dead in Kerala so far in flooding and landslides following heavy and incessant rains.
