Milind Prabhat expresses sorrow on death of father Gopaldas Neeraj

The country suffered a big loss on the 19th of July. The renowned poet Gopaldas Neeraj, departed from the world yesterday. His son, Milind Prabhat expressed his pain on his father’s demise and said that his death has left a huge void in his life which cannot be filled.  

Milind Prabhat asserted, "It's very difficult to rule for so long on Kavi Sammelans. His death has left a huge void in my life, but he will be remembered by everyone. It's a loss not only for me but also for the society and the nation."

Prime Minister of the country,Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow on the sad demise of the poet. He tweeted, "Saddened by the demise of noted poet and lyricist Shri Gopaldas 'Neeraj.' Shri Neeraj's unique style connected him with people from all walks of life, across generations. His works are unforgettable gems, which will live on and inspire many. Condolences to his admirers.”

As you may know, Sri Gopaldas Saxena more popularly known as Kavi Neeraj was a well known Indian poet and had also been a major part of the Hindi literature. He fondly participated in the various Hindi Kavi Sammelan held across the country.

'Neeraj' also wrote certain songs for musicians like S.D. Burman and Shankar-Jaikishan.

He passed away at the age of 93 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
