Justice for Nida Khan : Bareilly court declared the instant divorce given by her husband invalid

LUCKNOW: Nida Khan who is a petitioner in one of several triple talaq cases, won a lawsuit as a Bareilly court on Wednesday declared the instant divorce given by her husband invalid.

The court also dismissed the petition filed by her husband who had sought a stay on the domestic violence case lodged against him by Nida Khan. During a hearing in the issue, the court categorically dismissed the petition filed Nida Khan's husband Sheeran.

 The Court also adjourned the matter for hearing on July 27.

The court also ruled the authorities to investigate the domestic violence case against Sheeren and his kins for allegedly harassing and torturing Nida Khan.

Nida Khan is associated with the prestigious Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat of Bareilly. She had been headlines of the media when she approached the Supreme Court and challenged the triple talaq given to her by her husband.

Nida also alleged that she was forced to sleep for consummating her marriage with her father-in-law and brother-in-law, due to the Islamic practice of 'Nikah Halala', so that her husband could get married her again.

Nida Khan had last year written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asking for him to put an end to the 'evil' Islamic practice to break up the marriages solemnize as per the Sharia law.

Nida Khan got married to Usman Raza Khan alias Anzu Miyan Sheeran of Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat family in 2015 but received divorced in 2016. Since that time, she has been fighting for the rights of Muslim women.
