Nike is a renowned sportswear brand. As per the recent reports provided, Nike announced that it would be raising the salary of 7000 employees working with them. The company has made a declaration saying that it would undergo an introspection and then choose 10% candidates out of the total employees working for them and adjust their salaries by the starting of August.
The spokesperson of the company, asserted, that the company has decided to rethink the pay offered to its candidates so as to support a culture in which employees feel included and empowered.
The decision has been taken by the authorities due to the complaints filed by some of the employees regarding misbehavior against women. Also, some of the male employees associated with the company were accused of sexual harassment and hence were expelled from the company.
The Chief Executive Officer described their behavior as something which was completely against their values.
The decision made by the company is being seen as its way of addressing female inequality in terms of the income. They have also decided to rethink on their bonus policies.
The company is looking forward to making changes that encourage the number of females in the company and make them feel wanted and confident enough.
