If this happens then 20 billion units of electricity will be saved annually in the country. At the same time, people's health will also have a positive effect. In this regard, Power and Innovation and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh launched the campaign to promote energy efficiency.
In the meeting with the major companies and their organizations, which are making air conditioners, they said, "The normal temperature of the body is 36 to 37 degrees Celsius, but the temperature in the commercial establishments, hotels and offices is kept at 18 to 21 degrees. It is not only troublesome but also really unhealthy. At this temperature, people have to wear hot clothes or use blankets. This is actually a waste of energy. In view of this, some countries like Japan have been made to maintain the temperature of 28 degree Celsius."
According to an official statement, the Energy Efficiency Bureau (BEE), which is under the power ministry, has done a study in this context and recommended to set the temperature in the air conditioner 24-degree Celsius. Beginning in this direction, consultation will be issued to all commercial establishments and manufacturers, including the airport, hotel, shopping mall. In the meeting, the manufacturers were suggested to set the temperature of 24 degree Celsius in the air conditioner.
At the same time, it has been labeled and asked to tell customers how much it is better to set the temperature than their money savings and better health perspective. This heat will be in the range of 24 to 26 degrees. According to the statement, "After four to six months awareness campaign, the survey will be done to find people's opinions. After that, the Ministry will consider it mandatory. If all customers adopt it, then 20 billion units will be saved in a year. "
