The debacle in the next Lok Sabha elections in 2019 Congress President Rahul Gandhi has declared the party in 2019 as the candidate of the post of PM. But the Congress allies in the UPA are reluctant to discuss the leadership of Rahul. The surge of RJD, considered to be the most trustworthy ally of the Congress, seems to be changing instead.

After the Congress Working Committee meeting on Sunday, party spokesman Randeep Surjewala said, "Congress's decision is accurate, flat and clear. Rahul Gandhi is our face. We will go among the people under his leadership. When we are the largest party then it will naturally be the same face. There is no scope for doubt."

Only JDS is seen to be comfortable with the Congress led by Rahul, while the other allies are reluctant to contest it. RJD has raised questions on the claim of Rahul's PM post in gestures and many more names have sprung up for this post.

RJD leader, Yadav pointed out that there are many leaders in the opposition who can claim for the post of prime minister. Yadav said, 'Have they (Rahul Gandhi) officially been declared as PM Candidates? Along with Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee (TMC), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Mayawati (BSP) can all become Prime Minister."

On the claim of Rahul's PM's post, Mamta Banerjee has refused to speak on this. While BSP leaders have already decided to make Mayawati a PM face of the alliance. In the name of Rahul, BSP leaders are not ready to say anything, they say that Mayawati will decide on this.
