PM Modi attends closing ceremony of birth centenary celebrations of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche

Prime Minister Narendra Modi with CM of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti arrived at the closing ceremony of birth centenary celebrations of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche and the commencement of work on Zoji La Tunnel in Leh today.

 PM Modi took his twitor handle and expressed his gratitude as saying, “I thank the wonderful people of Leh for the warm welcome. I am delighted to be here”.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will also be present at the events.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Srinagar Ring Road and Jammu Ring Road at separate events at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu respectively.PM Narendra Modi  also paid tribute to Kushok Bakula Rinpoche at the valedictory ceremony of birth centenary celebrations of Rinpoche in Leh.

At the same event, PM Modi  uncovered a commemorative inscription to mark the commencement of work on the Zoji La tunnel, which will join Baltal and Minamarg.

Following his one day visit Prime Minister Modi dedicated the 330mw Kishanganga Hydropower project to the nation, at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
