Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Daman have declared plans to ban liquor sale, while Gujarat, Bihar, Nagaland and Manipur already are dry states.
New Delhi, Alcohol and beef have been prohibited in many states of the country. But CEO of the Policy Commission, Amitabh Kant says that such a ban will have an effect on the country's tourism industry.
Amitabh Kant said that it is not for the state government to make a decision whether tourists should eat or drink. During addressing the World Economic Forum, he said, "State governments cannot do that, what the tourists have to eat and drink there. It is not feasible to get it fixed. What they want to eat and drink, this is their individual decision, not the work of the State Governments. '
When Amitabh Kant was asked whether states banning alcohol and alcohol are not aware of it, it is important to take care of tourist facilities to promote tourism in the country. In response to this question, he said, "I believe in long-term ways of life on some things. Tourism is really the nature of civilization. It cannot be that you keep garbage waste and say that we have a lot of historical tourism. In such a situation, India needs to pay awareness to cleanliness. It should absolutely be at the first number. Number 2 is to endow with better experience without any disruption.
He further said, 'I have always said that there should be a responsive environment for tourists. Some tourists want to calm down in the evening, while some are fond of having fun in the nightfall, then in such a way, we will have to handle them according to Indian culture, only then tourism will be encouraged positively.
