On Thursday, the Supreme Court has allowed Sahara Group to choose any package from its property in the Aamby Valley city project. SC allowed the group to sell the property by May 15 and deposit the proceeds with the SEBI-Sahara refund account. The Aamby Valley city project is located in Maharashtra.

A special panel led by Chief Justice Dipak Misra confirmed that if the Sahara Group fails to sell its property by May 15, the Bombay HC's official liquidator will proceed with the proposed auction. The process of the auction will sell the property. The panel members include Justices Ranjan Gogoi and A K Sikri. They both have asked the court receiver to collect money on the account of maintenance. They even asked them to pay for the group if it resumes the maintenance work.

According to the reports, the official liquidator said it has started the plans for auctioning the Aamby Valley property. For the auction, the bids will be invited from May 21 to 31 and the auction begins from June 2. The matter will be fixed further on May 15.

On November 23, the apex court had granted liberty to two Bombay High Court judges to adopt procedures to facilitate the auctioning of the properties. They also directed the liquidator not to allow any obstruction in the process.
