Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film’s first look was released on Twitter on Tuesday. The film is titled as “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” and will be directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Sharing a picture from the sets, Bollywood film critic Taran Adarsh, broke the news on Twitter. The picture featured Shahid Kapoor, female lead Shraddha Kapoor, and director Shree Narayan Singh.

Shahid Kapoor has now entered the shoes of a small-town guy to play the character in the film.
The film is currently being shot in Tehri in Uttarakhand and the picture is from the sets there. The film is a comedy-drama which deals with a ubiquitous issue across India, electricity shortage and inaccuracies in the electricity bills and tries at spreading awareness among people and authorities to look into the matter. The film’s title “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” is eponymous to its subject.
Apart from Shahid and Shraddha, Yami Gautam also plays an important role in the film. Shree Narayan Singh has previously directed “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and edited “A Wednesday”, “Baby” among others.
The film will be produced by KriArj Entertainment and T-series.
