Magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ the most controversy refuses to slow down, with the makers of the ‘Padmavati’ still not able to rope in a release date. The movie was supposed to release on December 1, but unfortunately for the maker as the protests by the Karni Sena and the issues with the CBFC forced the movie to miss the release date. Padmavati is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and stars Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.

While the fringe members of the Karni Sena have often showered their threats and abuses over director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actress Deepika Padukone and to some extent, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor has found himself to be a safe spot in the entire row. However that doesn't mean he is unhappy with what's happening to the movie.

Recently at an award function, Shahid was asked about what he wanted to say to the people hostile the release of the movie. To which he replied, "No one wants to make a film to hurt sentiments because it’s for as many people as possible to see. I hope people will believe in that. This film has a lot of firsts attached to it. I don’t know what the end result will be - better than what we expect or worse. People react to a story anyway, and if it has originality and the right cinematic quality, it will work. The reaction will be positive. This is a really good film and I am hoping people will like it.” Magnum opus had to released on 1st December but postponed and it is expected that after election movie will release.
